Aims

It is known that retail sector in Turkey is still open to growth. The retail sector, which had a volume of 16 trillion dollars worldwide in 2014, grew by 11% in the same year. The average growth rate of retail sector in Turkey is 5.7% per year. The retail sector in Turkey poses a significant potential across Europe as a result of its over 80 million population and its consumption expenditures. Organized retail's share in the total retail market is increasing year by year in Turkey, however, ratio of organized retail's share in total retail market still remains low compared to developed countries.

In our country, Retail Sales and Store Management associate degree program is only available in Anadolu University, Open Education Faculty. Currently there is no equivalent to the program that serves as formal education.

With the 3 + 1 system we are implementing, Retail Sales and Store Management program students will have the chance to apply the theoretical education they have received in the school for 3 semesters in the market for 1 semester. When a 6-week internship is added to the 16-week semester, they will be entitled to receive a diploma with a total of 22 weeks workplace experience.
